Port Albert is a fishing village that was first settled in 1841. The township developed rapidly and was a bustling port until the 1870s when road and rail links caused its decline. It is now re-awakening with many of the old buildings being renovated. The safe harbours and good fishing make it a favourite spot with those who love fishing.
